Condolences to the Family of Jonathan W. O’Driscoll

2019

Jonathan was best friends with one of my best friends son. He was such a great kid! Always made you laugh but he was tough as nails. You could tell he would be the first one in on any situation. I am so sad to hear this. My condolences to his family. His parents are the salt of the earth. This one really hurts. Maryann and I are heartbroken.

When I first met Jon, it was after the Quincy vs. South Boston squirt MA State Hockey Championship. He was in net for South Boston, game was in Southie, the lights went out in the arena during the game. 3rd period and it was 2-1 South Boston on top. We threw our first line out there the last 2 minutes and must of had 8 shots on net, every single one he stopped, he was double deeked by Josh Gio and he didn't even flinch. Unbelievable hockey player as a youth. Jon's personality would light up whatever room he walked into, he was definitely the loudest and the brightest person I ever met. My condolences to the O'Driscoll's, my thoughts and prayers are with you and Jon's immediate family. Rest in peace.

Johnathan was a really Good & Upbeat person to be around, almost always bursting with enthusiasm & this Irish vibrancy that was often wonderfully infectious, & he did Squantum very proud by serving as a dedicated US Marine overseas & as an equally dedicated member of Quincy's Fire Department, all while remaining true to his neighborhood roots, his family, colleagues & friends. A real Good Guy, & a real Good, Proud Irishman, Johnathan will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to his family, as my heart goes out to them. God Bless you Johnathan, & RIP my man.
