Condolences to the Family of Donald L. Murray

2018

To all the family of Don.. He was a very important person to not only the BPD but also to his social network friends etc. Always with a smile, a joke or to help out when folks sought his assistance. He was also my past racquetball partner (so many years ago) an avid athletic enthusiast and his accomplishments in track and running were an inspiration. I just found out about his passing a day ago and it brought so many memories back. Once again my heart goes out to him and family. He was from the old guard and made a tremendous impact on those who knew him.

Don was a great friend and responsible for the Melrose CDI Mets winning the Metro Boston championship 5 years in a row. His leadership guided us through 5 undefeated seasons. We all mourn his passing. Joe Alabiso and the Mets softball team.

Thank you Don Murray for being such a wonderful mentor and coach to so many of our men and women crosscountry runners at Suffolk University. Your telling of competing in the International Law Enforcement Games and the Police and Fire Olympics (I can still see those medals that you proudly wore) were legendary. RIP.

To Don's Family, Don was a customer of ours in South Boston. He would come in before a big race and buy dried fruit mixes, nuts, and his favorite- anything with dark chocolate. He was a humble, funny and always talked about his loving wife and his children. He was a proud father. We miss his quick wit and neverending stories. We used to say we gotta close Don, but come back soon. He would always be smiling.

Tim and family: My condolences on the death of your father and my brother in blue. He was a wonderful colleague and a true friend to all his colleagues. There is no doubt that his contributions to the BPD and the BPPA will serve as a legacy of his service. We are truly all better for having known him. Rest In Peace my friend.
