I cannot tell you how many times I have told people that Jack was my Uncle to be greeted with the reply "He is the greatest guy." This was always followed by a story of how he helped someone out or had a tremendous impact in someone's life. Everyone loves an optimist and everyone loved Uncle Jack!

A great tree has fallen in the forest and will now become humus for the future generations he seeded. Thanks be to God for you, Jack Sheehan, a giant of justice in the world, a giant in the lives of all those you touched, including me. Keep connecting and agitating from heaven. We need your ever-optimistic intercession on behalf of all who are made to suffer on earth. Do not rest in peace. Rest in power. With love and gratitude to and for you...

To Jack's family: In the 1970s, when I ran youth employment programs for the Charlestown Boys' & Girls' Club, I had the true pleasure of working with Jack while he was at the Kennedy Center and ABCD. He was a joy to professionally partner with as we teamed to do good things for Charlestown's teenagers. I always enjoyed his friendliness and ongoing good cheer, his commitment to young people, his passion for his work, and his professionalism. So it is with bittersweet memories that I heard of his passing, yet I know that he led a truly wonderful life. Glad that family was with him.

My sincere condolences to the Sheehan family. I worked with Jack at the Kennedy Center in Charlestown and at Action for Boston Community Development for several years. Jack was one of the most kindest, fair and funny man I’ve ever known. May all of your warm memories help you through this tough time.

There are but few people you meet in life about whom you can say it was a privilege to know them. Jack Sheehan was such a person. Always came away from each encounter feeling good. Good about myself, him and the world around us. He had that unique ability to change the world around him in a positive way. I am sure he will carry that skill into the next life and many more will be better for knowing him. Farewell Jack, until we meet again.

Dear Sheehan Family; Our deepest condolences to each of you on such a profound loss of your wonderful dad and grandpa. Jack Sheehan was bigger than life itself. It was a privilege to spend time with him and listen to his wonderful stories. His mentorship of so many young people made such a difference in many communities. He will always be "tucked in your hearts". As he watches over all. As an angel his guidance and love will always be close by. God Bless All of us at Right at Home Mary L Walsh -Clinical Director

The nicest person I have ever met! He told me one time that of all his 30 plus years of teaching, he could find at least one thing good in everyone. Except one kid, and he was right. So positive and friendly to all of the kids and people of Charlestown. Worked with Jack so many years at the Kennedy Center. I am so sad. So sad for his family.
