Condolences to the Family of Walter J. O’Connor, Jr.

2017

To Okie's family... We would visit Okie and Christine in the church store at St Katharine Drexel every Sunday. We unfortunately lost touch when we couldn't bear going to church every week after we lost my mother in law. Every time I saw Okie, he was a ray of sunshine. He would joke with my son, and we would chat about family and funny stories they had about when their children were younger. Even though we didn't know him well, he will be missed. I recently started going back to church each week, and I had been wondering where they were... Perhaps they went to a different mass? I was working up the courage to ask the Father if they still attended but just saw this notice. I will pray for him and for all of his family. Please give Christine my condolences and let her know that little Matthew from church misses them both.

Dear Janet and Adam and the rest of the O'Connor family. I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of your beloved "Okie". I had met him a few times and he was always such a congenial and jovial man and my brother Bill had a very sentimental relationship with him and he states that he will greatly miss Walter/Okie and that he was a great man. May all of you find comfort in your fond memories of him in order to help you all get through this very difficult time of grieving and loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Fondly, Lynne Thorburn
