Condolences to the Family of John J. “Jack” Kelly

2017

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my old boss ,Jack Kelly. Jack hired me to open a very new innovated program call the Diagnostic Assessment Center in Fall River in 2000. For 10 years he allowed me to practice my skills in the" at risk adolescent "community by creating the most productive and successful secure facility in Massachusets. With his guidance and support, we were able to provide the prototype for the positive treatment of the most difficult children and their families in Ma. He also had the courage to allow me to purchase 2 homes in Fall River that to this day remain as a safe haven for troubled boys and girls who now can see a brighter future. On the lighter side I was privileged to be part of the beginning stages of the OCY GOLF TOURNAMENT and partner up with him to win almost every charitable tournament in the area from 2000-2010.He just loved to win and he made sure that all the prizes we won were donated back to the hosts. My condolences to all the Kelly family for your loss and thank you Jack,''for always having my back"

Jack was a wonderful man. Having him in my life has made me a far better person. Jack hired me into the social service field and was my first boss. Jack became my mentor and lifelong friend. Bea was Jack's soul mate. When I think of jack I will always smile. He touched my soul. Fond farewell Jack. Jan and I will forever remember you. Bill

Heartfelt condolences to Bea and the family from Marty and Barb Pittman in Salt Lake City. I warmly remember John welcoming me on moving to Dorchester in 6th grade. We spent the rest of grammar school and high school as brothers and workmates. I admired him so much and tried to imitate him when growing. He and his family were always there for me. He met Bea and fell head over heals and the world became a better place because of him and his wonderful family.

I’ll always remember John’s warm hospitality when visiting Hull. The lobster fiest on the veranda, the Christmas dinners, playing horse shoes, and kids running around everywhere. When Joyce and I checked out of our hotel in Hull to catch the 6am commuter boat to Boston I wondered who was driving so slowly in front of our cab. When we got to the dock we realized it was John coming to see us off with a smile and a hug. That’s the kind of man John was. He did so much and will be missed so much more.

My deepest sympathies, I have very fond memories of time spent with John on the porch in Hull watching the planes and having coffee, then walking down to the water, there was always a good laugh to be had and story to be told. I will miss him.
