Dear Family, John was truly a wonderful person. I am so honored that I shared memories of him at Draper, the tennis course, Horse neck.. Through all the years I have know him, he was the pillar of our group. We will miss him, but his passing stirs the waters of our memories, and makes us appreciate life more. Tonight I will toast you, and make sure you hang out with my brother Donny, you both are special people....

Ellie: So sorry to hear of your loss. Heidi e-mailed me the other day to let me know. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

I enjoyed handball and squash with John since 1996, many good times with a great athlete. Before my retirement, John was a close friend to talk with and share experiences and remained a contact through his e-mails. Always missed Thursday nights at the "Muddy" for beer with friends. Condolences to the Schmidt family.

I worked with John at MIT- Draper for almost 1/2 century. Enjoyed working with him on projects and some of his sport activities. Will miss his emails on the events and thoughts of our nation. Condolences to the Schmidt family.

Ellie, we are keeping you close in our hearts now and in the days ahead. John's loving, creative spirit will live on in the memories that we share of the time spent together. Sending love and peace from Maine.

We are so very sorry regarding your tremendous loss. John and I were 20th Company shipmates in the Class of 1958 at USNA, Annapolis and roomed in close proximity to each other for four years. John and I were in the same USMC Basic Class 5-58 at Quantico, VA. He performed his USMC duties in exemplary fashion. He was always a stellar student and scholar. John did numerous Stremic family pencil sketches when he was able. He was an excellent artist. We will always cherish those memories! Semper Fi, my dear friend!
