Condolences to the Family of John J. Byrne

2019

We just found out today that John had passed. And send our payers for you and John, Frances. How wonderful that you two met and had such a rich life together. I remember him as a teenager in Southie, a good friend of my brother Joe's. He was always a warm, kind and happy person to be around. I know he will be met with open arms in heaven just as he met everyone he knew.

I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of John's passing. I am so sorry for your loss Frances and so relieved that we all got to visit with you and John the last time we were in town. You were both as welcoming and caring as you always were, as if we had never left. I am beyond lucky to have been able to call John my next door neighbor from my birth until I moved to Washington, DC for college (but really you'll always be my next door neighbor and a great friend). The smile John had on his face everytime he would see me is etched in my mind forever. I'll never forget the conversation we had on the day of my Graduation party from high school. He gave me a paperweight, with the image of a tree on it. It represented the tree that stood across the street from our houses, an image of the wonderful view of the marsh we had. The tree was to remind me of the home we shared together on Andrews Road for 18 years, and no matter how much things change, some things always remain the same. No matter what changes, John is my next door neighbor and a dear friend of mine forever. So sorry for your loss Frances, you and John are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you.

I'm sorry to hear Francis that John has past away . He was a great neighbor and friend of our fanily . He was extremely helpful whenever we had an issue going on in our house He never gave up even under extreme stubbon wrenches and bolts John would keep tugging and talking away until it fit or losen completely I'm glad we got to play golf up at Ponkapoag here and there He was a good listener of stories and he could tell a few himself out by the back driveway. We really miss you when we moved because we will never have a good as a neighbor as John . God Bless You Your friend Dennis Riordan

I am heart broken over the loss of John. We had the pleasure of being neighbors of John and Frances for 25 years. He saw my children be born and watch them grow to adults. John and Frances were more than neighbors, they are friends, they are family. John was always there to help us with a plumbing issue. He loved listening to the kids and their friends when they were at the house. I remember one time Tim had friends over and they were playing rock band. I came home from work and quickly left due to the noise. John stopped me the next day and said that he heard the most beautiful sound coming from our house. He loved the kids and loved hearing them have fun. He was the best and I will truly miss him. I am so happy that Tim, Kevin, Dennis and I were able to visit with John and Frances in January. We really miss you both.

John was a good friend and a man of faith. I remember him well from our years together as seminarians for the Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers). We enjoyed each other's company as students playing hockey and shooting pool in the wilds of the Adirondack Mountains for two years and then at the University of Dayton Ohio for another two years. Our last year together was in Washington DC during the novitiate. It was then that John felt God calling him to another way of life and then marrying his lovely wife Frances. He was good at his trade and people loved to talk to him. John took his faith seriously and continued to have a love for the people of Africa. We did talk on the phone together sharing life a number of times since are youth. I pray with you Frances as John arrives into the loving hands of our Lord. I pray with you that John may intercede for us as we continue on our journey until we to will jump on that glory train to fuller life. God bless, Fr. Jean Robitaille M.Afr.

What a great joy to have known John, though for too short a time. I will always be grateful to my aunt and cousin for introducing me to my Boston relatives two years ago. Cousin Frances, I have loved you and John dearly since that day. I am so sorry for your sudden loss.

Auntie Frances and family, We are very sorry of the passing of our sweet Uncle John. We had many many good memories of the good times we all had together with you here and out there. Uncle John is now having a good time with all our family we have lost. I am sure mom and dad loved seeing him again as well as grandma. You all will be our loving thoughts and prayers and we will never forget Uncle John or his great smiling face when he always came through our door. God Bless you all.
