As a Gold Star Mom, I want to extend my condolences to family and friends on the loss of SSG Sean O'Connell. May he always be remembered as a hero and may he rest in peace having done his duty to God and country.

Sean, All I can say is YOU are simply the best guy I know! Although I didn't see you as often as I would have liked, your awesome attitude towards life, your gigantic personality, and most of all your loyalty to your friends never faded...Thank you for your service to our country and your unwavering friendship! Mr. and Mrs. O'Connell, You raised an amazing man that will never die in the hearts of all of us! Thank you!

I did not know your son but his aunt Ellie spoke very highly of him and I know how close your family is. I have a son the same age and cannot imagine the pain of losing any child. You obviously did a great job raising him and instilling wonderful values. Otherwise he would not have accomplished so much nor be missed by so many. I was so sad to hear about Sean. He was one one the sweetest kids in Rockland. I have such fond memories of 'Ears'. His smile and lust for life was infectious. Sean always stuck out as a kid with high morals and character. He will be missed. I am sorry for your loss.

We love Sean more than you could imagine. When we knew he and his brothers were coming to visit in Maine that there would always be lots of laughs.. I know that Sean love to come up for a reboot. Do fishing and hunting get back to nature . We loved to have him. RIP my hero
