Condolences to the Family of James A. “Jim” Culbert

2015

Dear Betty and family. we were saddened to just learn 3-1-15 of Jim's recent death. Words are not very meaningful at this time, but somehow it helps to know that others share your grief. Always fond memories of you both at Hingham Harobr and in yard planting, cleaning, raking together. Love and Prayers Dottie & Don James and Children.

Jim has been our friend for over thirty five years. We have sailed camped traveled and even skied once together. Our children went to the same schools. Betty and Beth taught together for many years. How can we say goodbye? When we play cards now who can we tease? Jim's good humor ans sharp wit were always present Once he challenged our then teenage son to see who could carry the most logs in for the fire. Jim outwitted him by making a carrier out of his shirt. Our son never forgot the lesson that brains always win over brawn. Jim will be sorely missed.

Came across Patti's webpage on Facebook and saw that Jim had crossed over. I often wished that I could tell him how proud of him and what he has accomplished, His perseverence, persistence to reach his goals always amazed me. He overcame so many situations throughout his childhood and came out a champ. I can remember his struggles in high school as we studied a lot together. He cared so deeply for his mom and Stevie and went on to do the same for his own family. He is home now and will watch over all of you. Talk to him often, pray for him, he will hear you and perhaps send a few messaged down to you. What he was supposed to accomplish here on earth was apparently done. He is now home and in a place of beauty and love with those who went before him. Please accept my condolences for your loss. With love and respect, Sandy Martin Thomaston and Waterbury and now Spring Hill, Florida.

Jim was my cousin and our daughter Holly's Godfather. I have so many fond memories of Jim while we were growing up spending many Sunday's at his parent's home. We had so much fun climbing trees and playing games. I'm sorry to say we didn't keep in touch as we grew up and married. I'm so sorry for your loss, may God give you strength as you mourn his loss!

Aunt Betty, Jim, Sean, Jen - My heart hurts for you and your family. Uncle Jim's zest for life was just amazing. I just loved all his stories and his way of telling them. May all the love he gave throughout his life keep you comforted at this sad time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Cindy

So many of my happy memories of growing up involved the Culbert Family. Mr Culbert was the best...from sailing trips (oops, was that me that ran aground!?!?!?) to camping trips, there was always an adventure around the corner. And to thank him I locked him out on my deck in Southie at my Christmas party. But he was fine with climbing up the fire escape and through the window on a cold December night. He will be so very missed and all of the Thompson's and Ball's are keeping all of you in our warmest thoughts and prayers. Love to all.
