Dear Bessie, Tricia and Jeff, We are so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. We just got back from a trip to visit our grandsons and heard the sad news. He was a great guy who always had a smile and a wisecrack . We'll miss him. Our love to you all, Peter and Rosie Cavallo

My family and I have had the pleasure of living across the street from Bessie and Joe since 1991. Joe was the ideal neighbor...helpful, funny, and an expert on anything and everything Weymouth. We will all miss him and his sense of humor. Our thoughts are with his family during this time of grief. Katie Ruel and family

I search my heart for words to say that might help ease your grief and pain and I realize there aren't any words to be said right now, but know that there are many people who will be praying that you will find the strength to make it through this difficult time. Draw upon the love, support, and strength of your family and friends surrounding you now, and hold tight to the many precious memories you have of Joe. We will forever cherish his warm, loving heart and contagious smile. We smile at the many memories of Ryan and Joe laughing so loud and having so much fun while playing baseball and catch in the street. Jeff and I will always remember and be grateful for the hours Joe spent with us outside one weekend helping to teach Ryan how to ride his bike without training wheels. Ryan's favorite house to stop at on Halloween will always be Joe and Bessie's. May you take comfort in knowing that now we all have a new Guardian Angel to watch over us.

My heart full of love goes out to all the wonderful people in Joe's family. Growing up next door to the Oliverio's, I knew Joe since he was dating Bessie. They were older than me but they always talked to me like I wasn't a kid or a pain to them. I used to think he looked just like Buddy Holly cause he was skinny with dark rimmed glasses and short black, neatly combed hair. I remember when they got married and I remember meeting Tricia wrapped in a blanket on her first car trip to her Grandparents house next door, then a few years later, a blue blanket with Jeffrey inside. More recently I had the pleasure of spending a wonderful night with them all for Al's 90th birthday and Joe, we sat amongst all the fun that night and I actually had a little while away from playing photographer and we talked of old times and the excitement of the upcoming, Grandbaby twins. You told me you always enjoyed the silly play on words that I had a knack for, even when they were 'really sour' lol You are loved very much and of course you knew that of your family and close friends, but I wanted you to know that you were loved by that 'weird kid next door to Al and Evy.' and I will always think of you with a smile on my face.
