To Rich's Family, I had the pleasure to know Rich while working in the tight knit real estate industry in Boston. First class man, co-worker, client, human being all the way through. Whether in a meeting or passing him on the streets of downtown Boston almost daily as our offices were across the street from each other, he always took the time to stop, look you in the eye, say hello, genuinely ask how you are doing, and then go about his busy day. I will never forget this about him and in his honor, do the same forward. A life well lived, way too short. God Bless, Rest in Peace Rich. Best, Tara Martin
Tara MartinDear Erica, Perry, Max and Nick, We were so deeply saddened to hear of your sudden and tremendous loss. Rich was a wonderful man and our hearts break for your family. With Love and Sympathy, The Orlando Family

Andrew GrimaldiDear Erica , I am so sorry to hear about Rich. Sending you and your family heartfelt thoughts & prayers. Angelique
Angelique NewmanI got to know Rich over the last few years as outside general counsel for AW Perry. Rich was a pleasure to work with, among my favorite clients that I have had in my career. He was smart, genuine and had a great sense of humor. I feel like I got to know him personally as well and know how much he cared for his immediate and extended families and all of his friends. I know he will be greatly missed, my heartfelt sympathies to all. John Siciliano
John SicilianoFrom my family I want to say how truly sorry we are to learn of Richard's passing. Max & Mary were dear, close, friends to our parents Dave & Rusty Garland. We were all part of the Medford Boat Club Crew. The very strong memories of the loving family Richard grew up in are very much in my mind at this time, my heart aches for Max to have lost Richard. I pray that you find strength in the beautiful memories you have of his love and direction and also knowing that Mary will undoubtedly be open armed for his arrival. Bless you all and hugs to the most wonderful Max. Thank you.
Marianne Garland McCourtErica , I am very sorry to hear about Rich. Although I haven’t talked to him in years he was a big part of my years at UMass. I had one of the best times I ever had at a wedding when I attended yours. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Pete Montini
Pete MontiniI am so sad to learn of Rich’s passing. Such a great guy. So upbeat and friendly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Beal family. Peace at this very difficult time.
Tim & Jody NashSuch a sad shock. From Mystic Elementary through WHS '81, I knew Rich as a nice, funny and smart guy. My brother was lucky to join him on the boat commute from Hingham to Boston from time-to-time. Erica and family, know that he will always be thought of positively by everyone he met, but especially old school mates.
Maureen KennedyWe are sorry to hear bout the passing of Rich Beal. We had the pleasure of meeting him when our son Nicholas played football at Stonehill College. Our sincere sympathy... Peter, Nick and Suzanne Hajjar
Peter HajjarErica Max Perry Nick and Max sr. (Sandy) and Marlin You are in our thoughts every day every moment. So many times when we lose loved ones it is stated as a celebration of life-For Rich it is a celebration of Love. That is the love we and so many others send you-and know that this love will last years and decades. That love is the only thing that will hopefully give you strength and bring us to a brighter future. We are here for you. Love
Neil Susan Taisia and Aliona MartinDear Erica, Perry, Max, and Nick- Words can't describe how sorry we are to hear of Rich's passing. He was a great man, coach, and father. I always loved talking football (or any subject) with Rich. He was the consummate pro --whether on the field, in the business world, or as a dad/husband. Robin and I will cherish the memories of our Saturday night trips to Daddy's in Hull. The world lost a great man in Rich but heaven's team just got a true champion. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. The Terres Family
Rich TerresI’ve done Construction work in the Perry Buildings for years,,whether Rich saw you on the site , in the Lobby or on the street He would always stop to talk,, He was a True Gentleman who Overflowed with Class!! He will be Missed!!!
FitzyRichard's mother was a beloved member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Chapter U sends deepest sympathy to Max and family.
Karen Omahen, chapter U of P.E.O.To the extended Beal Family - I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss. I grew up with Richard and went to Mystic elementary school with him. He and I were in many grade "classes" together and were close early childhood friends. We played street hockey and wiffle ball on the Dennet Road field down the street from Rich's house. While we drifted apart as the years went on, I enjoyed seeing and talking with him at WHS football games at Thanksgiving. He was one of the funniest guys I knew. He could make me laugh until it hurt. I want to share with you a story of when we were very young. I got into some trouble in the hallway at Mystic school in 5th grade, and one of the teachers shouted what is your name. Rich, prompted yell "his name is Fred McGuinnes!", a successful decoy. He and I laughed about that for years to come, and I randomly think about that incident and it makes me smile. He was sharp witted, thoughtful, and a great sense of humor. I hope you can be comforted by great memories. I will say a prayer for him tonight. May he rest in peace.
Ed McKennaI truly am at a loss for words ... I cannot express how very sorry I am for your loss. An Amazing sense of humor, and a kind heart are my memories of Richard. Please know that I keep you ALL in my Thoughts and Prayers.. Richard is amongst the best of company in Heaven.
Amy Angelo JohnsonSharing in your sadness as you remember Rich. We will fondly remember his upbeat greeting and smile as he would catch the train to Boston. Often outside doing projects in the yard he always had time to small talk and would always give our pets a good dose of attention - perhaps they were drawn to him and his good nature. Not only would we see Rich often as we were walking down the street, but I also remember words of encouragement at last years Turkey Trot - even able to give a friendly shout out as I was making my way to the finish line... a pleasant surprise! He was so involved in the town and the activities that make our town great and bring communities together. He will truly be missed - thinking of you all.
Melissa & Jason CaineMy deepest sympathies to Richard’s family and friends. As a consultant for AW Perry, I never had the pleasure of meeting Richard. Over the past year we had spoken weekly relative to a development project being proposed. We discussed job details at length, but also glimpses of our lives. Upon disclosing that my wife and I had just returned from a Colorado ski trip, he professed his love for the state where he used to reside. After talking with someone over a lengthy period of time you can gain a sense of an individual. I surmised quickly that Richard was a good person. I never met Richard Beal, but I wished I had.
Mark FougereErica and family, I am so saddened to hear of Rich’s sudden passing. Please accept my deepest condolences. You are all in my thoughts and my prayers.
Debbie Williams ChasseDear Erica, Max, Perry, and Nick, I was saddened to hear of Rich’s sudden passing. I am extending you all my heartfelt sympathy. I knew Rich when we were kids in Winchester, we would play baseball and football at the park just through woods from my other old friend Charles’s childhood home and I recall hanging out with him at his family's home. I am sorry I did not know Rich as an adult and father, I moved from Winchester in my 8th grade summer and the last time we met was fun but brief, when Rich paid a visit to an Amherst (bar) while I was attending UMASS back in ‘84 or ‘85. I will always remember Rich by his good sportsmanship, jovial manner and bravery. Regarding the latter, I recall when some outsider’s came to our makeshift ballpark and were not playing fairly. Rich’s adversary was larger and older, but Rich did not hesitate to take the bully on! It comes to no surprise that Rich evolved into a cherished spouse and father, inspiring coach and leader. My prayers are with the Beal family who will only gain strength by Rich’s guardian light and I will be sure to add a Hingham ornament in Rich’s memory to our Christmas tree this December. Rich’s old friend, Scott Fackert
Scott M. FackertTo Rich's family: A true loss of a most honorable person that fully upheld the family's name and reputation for the highest level of integrity. It was my pleasure to have known Rich. Best wishes, Jon Shellington
JON SHELLINGTONA special guy. I remember coach Mac. speaking so highly about Rich. As I got to know him better over the years I knew exactly what he meant. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Bob HoranDear Erica, Max, Perry, and Nick, We were shocked to hear of Rich’s passing. Our hearts break for each of you. We will never forget how Rich and your family were one of the first to truly welcome us into the Hingham football family when Paul was new to the team. At the get togethers at your house, we saw first hand the strong bonds and love for each other and for life your family has. Rich always showed such positivity, never ever heard a negative comment when we sat together at games or away from the field. We could always tell that he placed teaching, learning, determination, and character development at the top of the list. He did an outstanding job and has left this legacy with not only each of you but certainly the hundreds and hundreds of lives he influenced in business and on the field. The world has lost a true gentleman, family man, friend, teacher, and humble leader much too soon. Thank you for sharing Rich with so many of us. Our prayers are with all the Beal family and hope that you find some comfort in the great memories, relationships, and lessons Rich gave you and others that will continue to carry on for lifetimes. We will be hanging that extra Christmas ornament in Rich’s honor. Our deepest sympathies, The Rockett Family
Francis RockettMy sincerest condolences. Rich was an incredible member of the community. My deepest sympathies to his family.
Serenity BeloI am so sorry to hear of Coach Beal's passing. I was an incoming freshman at Tufts in the Fall of 1997 and he was such a positive and integral influence in my transition. He was always so positive and supportive, and truly felt he had my best interest at heart. My college experience would not have been the same without him and for that I am truly grateful. Here is one small anecdote, which is very lacrosse-specific, but I think also speaks to his humor and compassion. I had played the attack position my whole lacrosse life from middle school through high school. And in our first game against Amherst College, I got manhandled all over the field. Mind you, I'm what many would call lanky. So the game ends and I'm feeling a bit down because I'm realizing college kids are WAY bigger and stronger than in high school. And because I just got beaten up for the past 60 minutes. And Coach Beal takes me aside and says: "so....have you ever considered playing midfield?" There was a humor to it knowing that I had never played that position ever, but a compassion knowing that it would help my playing career and maybe be something I'd even enjoy. I've been at midfielder ever since throughout my time at Tufts and beyond, and have always remembered that subtle moment in time that really led to me loving the sport and appreciating Coach Beal. He ignited my passion for lacrosse and was likely a much larger influence on me than I had ever realized. I was so heartbroken to have found out this tragic news. But so many happy memories came flooding back. I hope this story provides you with some comfort as it has for me. He was a great a coach and an even better person. He will be greatly missed but will always hold a special place in my heart and in my memory.
Evan BerensonThe loss of Rich is huge. AW Perry is the only 6 generations 1800's Greater Boston real estate companies left! With Perry, Max and Nicholas, Rick sowed the seeds to carry on a true legacy.

Gregg CamaraErica, Max and family. Linda and I have barely had the words over the past few days to express our stunning reaction to Rich's death. I feel like it was just yesterday that we were sharing some ideas for galvanizing local businesses to support SSC and arts in peoples lives. Rich was such a supporter of the vision and mission. His voice was an important one particularly in these very tough times. He so cared about the important things. We are thinking about you all, lots. His energy, standards, caring ways, strength for doing the right things, and more, will be missed. Best to you all. Gerald
