William V. Lydon

Lydon, William V. “Will” “Bill” of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, died April 17, 2018.

Beloved husband of 58 years to Georgia Lydon (Joseph) of Quincy. Loving father of Donna Donaghey and her husband Brian of Quincy, Patricia Lydon-Prasinos and her fiancé Anthony Carnevale of Quincy, Janice DiFabio and her husband David of Billerica and William P. Lydon of Quincy.  Devoted Papa of Kerry, Brian, Patrick, Christopher, Connor, Alec, Leah and Sam.  Cherished son of the late James and Catherine (Regan) Lydon.  Caring brother of Mary Logan of Quincy, Barbara Ridge of Quincy and the late Alice Mahoney, James Lydon, Claire Carmody, Margaret Kelly and John Lydon.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Bill was a United States Navy Veteran who served his country during the Korean War.  He was a Boston Police Officer for over 30 years before retiring in 1987.  Bill treasured family vacations, especially to California, Florida and Bermuda.  He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed movies and golf.  Bill spent much time taking long walks at Castle Island with his wife.  Bill’s main passion in life was spending time with his family and friends.  He will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
