William T. Roche, Jr.

Roche, William T., Jr. of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy and South Boston, died August 8, 2018.

William was born and raised in South Boston, one of three children.  He was a proud 1957 graduate of South Boston High School, where he met his childhood sweetheart, Maureen O’Brien.  They later married and a raised a family of their own, spending 57 years of devoted marriage together.  Faith, family, and friendship were the cornerstones of his life.  He worked as a lineman for Boston Edison for 39 years, retired as a Court Officer in the MA Trial Court, and was a Norfolk County Deputy Sheriff.  His greatest joys were watching his children and grandchildren at their various sports and activities.  He himself was a gifted athlete playing football for South Boston High School, and for the local semi-pro team.  He ran track and also played softball in the local league.  Mr. Roche will be remembered as a gentleman, with a strong moral character, and a kind heart.

Beloved husband of Maureen A. (O’Brien) Roche of Weymouth.  Loving father of Thomas Roche and his significant other Jacqueline Duffy of Quincy, Joan Barove and her husband Robert of Plymouth, Maureen Fallon and her husband Brian of Stoughton, William Roche and his wife Stefanie of Braintree, and Robert Roche and his wife Maureen of Weymouth.  Brother of Francis Roche and his wife Marie of FL, and the late Catherine Knox and her husband William.  Papa to Robert, William, Jenna, Joseph, Brian, Victoria, Kyle, Thomas, Shea, Jerard, and Nevin . Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM.  Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
