William J. “Bill” Harnden

William J. “Bill” Harnden of Hingham, died April 3, 2024, at age 80. Bill was the son of George and Ethel Harnden and the beloved husband of Suzanne M. (Leavitt) Harnden. Sister of Carole Palmer of Harwichport, the late June Hennessey of Hingham, and the late George “Mickey” Harnden of California. Brother in law of Shirley Esposito and Sandra Kentel both of Hingham. Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He had a very special place in his heart for his fur child – his cat King Henry.

Bill was a lifelong Hingham resident. He served as an altar boy at St. Paul’s Church for many years. Bill graduated from Northeastern University. He was in the Army Reserve. He was an avid Boston sports fan and was very athletic. He loved to ski and enjoyed running the Hingham road races. Bill and Suzanne were fortunate to have traveled to Japan, England, France, Germany and Bermuda. Bill enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time at their condo in NH, and spending time with family. Bill worked at a variety of companies including Pyrotector, GE, Massa, and Sager Electric where he was a purchasing agent.  He also delivered parts for Fleet Pride. He will be sadly missed by everyone who was lucky to have known him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family on Wednesday, April 10 from  8:30-9:30 AM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am in St. Paul’s Church, 147 North Street, Hingham  Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Bill may be made to Pat Roche Hospice Home, 86 Turkey Hill Lane, Hingham, MA 02043.
