Virginia Sampson

Sampson, Virginia “Ginny” (Nickerson) of Hull, died October 6, 2015.  

Ginny proudly served her country in the United States Army during the Korean War. She traveled all over Europe while enlisted, her favorite being Italy. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and VFW. She was an avid golfer and Club Champion, and also enjoyed fishing, lobstering, and being on the ocean. She lived in the same house in Hull that she was born in. Her and her husband Bob were “snow birds” down in Florida during the winters. Her family was her world and she was a very upbeat, happy, and supportive woman. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Daughter of the late Roger and Marguerite (Hatch) Nickerson. Loving wife for 59 years of Robert Sampson Sr. of Hull. Devoted mother of Michael Sampson and his wife Jane, Robert Sampson Jr. and his wife Kathy, and Virginia Donnelly and her husband Joseph, all of Weymouth. Cherished sister of Marjorie Raleigh of ME, Edith Brigham of Hull, and the late Joann Spring. Caring Nana of Christine, Michael, Rhianna, Bobby, Amy, Joseph, Erica, Emiley and Elizabeth. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and her pet seagull “Ruffy”.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery, Hull.
