Veronica F. “Vonnie” (Murphy) Wright, age 76, was welcomed into heaven on Jan. 19, 2018.

Beloved wife of William Wright of Quincy. Cherished mother of Anne Burns and her husband Scott of Braintree. Devoted grandmother of Ava Burns of Braintree. Loving sister of Philip Murphy and his wife the late Jean of Walpole, Mae Romey and her husband the late John of CA, Bernadette Burke and her husband the late Robert of Braintree, Patricia Molloy and her husband Robert of Braintree, the late Patrick “Joe” Murphy and his surviving wife Linda of Braintree, the late Margaret McGrail and her surviving husband Hugh of Medway. Sister-in-law to Stephen Wright and his wife Marie of Pembroke. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born in Dorchester, she was the youngest of seven children. At 13 her family moved to Braintree where she would live for over 50 years. She spent the last 10 years living in Squantum.Veronica graduated from Braintree High School in 1960. She then married her husband Bill and would enjoy over 52 years of marriage. They were blessed to have one child, their daughter Anne. She worked for State Street Bank. While there Veronica was the recipient of the Above and Beyond Award. She would also go on to work for the Polaroid Corporation in Research and Development. She could spend hours with a cup of tea talking to family and friends. She loved to travel with her husband Bill and built life long memories with family at Hampton Beach. But her greatest love in life came from spending time with her granddaughter Ava. Vonnie was known for her unconditional love for her family and Jesus.  Her sweet and happy nature, sense of humor and unrelenting friendliness will be greatly missed by all.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
