Theresa C. Thompson-Hines

Thompson-Hines, Theresa Carroll of Squantum, formerly of East Longmeadow, died April 23, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. 

Theresa was a 1985 graduate of East Longmeadow High School and a 1989 Honors graduate from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a BS in Nursing.  Theresa was a certified oncology nurse and worked her entire career at New England Medical Center in Boston, where she earned a reputation as a compassionate nurse and advocate for her patients.  She lovingly cared for her husband, Rob, through his illness and death.  Her most cherished role was that being mother to her three sons.  Tragically, in 2004 Theresa suffered a brain injury when she was allowed to lapse into a diabetic coma while a patient at Massachusetts General Hospital.  She courageously battled her way back, but remained disabled and endured years of poor health. 

Beloved wife of Paul J. Hines of Squantum. Loving mother of Robert Thompson-Hines, Brendan Hines, and Liam Hines; all of Squantum. Cherished daughter of Mary P. Carroll of Squantum and the late John P. Carroll. Loving sister of John Carroll of NE, Linda Morrisson of Westwood, Peggy Spada of Millis, Mary Walnut of North Attleboro, and Anne Long of Mansfield.  Daughter-in-law of Rose Hines of Quincy.  Sister-in-law of Marguerite Hennessy of Quincy, George Hines of Weymouth, James Hines of Quincy, Stephen Hines of Duxbury and the late Annmarie Andrews.  Wife of the late Robert S. Thompson, his late parents John V. and Louise W. Thompson and siblings John Thompson of Weymouth, Susanne Thompson Insolia of Boston, Jeanne Thompson of Haydenville, Lisa Segarra of MS and Christopher Thompson of CA.  Theresa’s family is eternally grateful for the loving care she received at the Pat Roche Hospice Home. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday from 3-7 PM in Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock St., N. QUINCY. The funeral mass will be Monday in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
