Rose Bonanno

Rose (Coccimiglio) Bonanno, a longtime resident of Hull, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 15, 2019, she was 98.  

Born in Brockton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Coccimiglio and Theresa (Lupica) Taverna.  Rose and her husband Tony were the proprietors for many years of Rose Ann’s Beauty Salon, and Tony’s Barber Shop.  Rose was a member of the Sons of Italy in Hingham, and enjoyed knitting, coupon clipping, shopping, playing Scrabble, Uno, and doing crossword puzzles.  She was a huge fan of Judge Judy, and watched her program every chance she could.  The greatest joys in Rose’s life came from time spent with her family.  

Rose was the beloved wife of the late Santo A. “Tony” Bonanno, and the devoted mother of Anna Lucia of Hull, John Bonanno of Hull, Richard Bonanno of Scituate, Marianne Bonanno of Plymouth, and the late Rosemarie Mercurio.  Rose was the loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren and proud great-grandmother of 10 great-grandchildren.  She was the sister of the late Louis Coccimiglio, Louise LoPorto, and Mary Picanzo. 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday August 20, from 4-8 PM in the Pyne-Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.  Services Wednesday August 21, at 10 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 11 o’clock.  Burial in Hull Village Cemetery.     

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Rose’s memory to the Ann M. Scully Senior Center, 197A Samoset Ave. Hull, MA 02045.
