Roger L. Roy

Roger L. Roy of South Weymouth, died suddenly after a short illness on December 27, 2018. He was 89.

Roger was a retired Project Manager for Chas T. Main Engineers of Boston. He served in the U.S. Army as a Communications Liaison with an Artillery Battalion with the 7th Division. An avid fisherman, he was a charter member of the Isaak Walton Fishing Association of Weymouth. Roger also enjoyed woodworking and photography. He was a past member of the Father O’Brien Knights of Columbus Council. Born in Fall River, MA, he graduated from Msgr. Prevost High School. He also attended the Univ. of Conn., Hartford Conn. Campus and Northeastern University’s Lincoln Inst. in Boston. He lived in Weymouth the past 60 years.

He is survived by his loving wife Lillian D. Roy (Scarpelli). He is the father of David J. Roy and his wife Deborah, Paul A. Roy and his wife Misty, and Doris L. Flanagan and her husband P.J.  Papa of Kristofer, Rhianna, Miranda, and Sierra.  Brother of Lorraine Menard of No. Dartmouth, and the late Edna Michaud, Ronald and Normand Roy.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday from 3-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass at St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 10AM. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Roger may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
