WETTERBERG, Richard “Rick” of Weymouth, passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on September 18, 2022.  Rick was the devoted husband of Marcia Wetterberg (Caulfield) with whom he enjoyed 24 beautiful years married and almost ten years of dating. Born and raised in Dorchester, he was the beloved child of Leonard “Lennie” and Carolyn Wetterberg (Barrett).

Rick married Marcia, the love of his life in 1998 and after moving to Weymouth, they went on to have three children, Richard Jr. (RJ), Ryan, and Allie Rose.  Rick was always proud of his children, their accomplishments, and the beautiful life he and Marcia built together.  He was a dedicated and loving father that spent many hours on sports fields and rinks cheering on his children, throwing tailgates, grilling, and spending family time down the Cape at Salt Air Village.   Family and God always came first to Rick and in turn, he was surrounded by love.

Rick spent his career in both long-term and home healthcare. Most recently he enjoyed managing South Shore Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Rockland, MA.  He was committed to both the staff and residents.  Prior to this role, he also was a leader at Humana in Needham.

He remained an avid Boston sports fan, but most enjoyed his years coaching all of his children’s Weymouth flag football, hockey and soccer teams, as well as high school football at Plymouth North, South Shore Vocational Technical High School, and Canton High.  Rick was a coach who took pleasure in helping children and young adults reach their potential and learn about the importance and value of teamwork.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to join the family at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH, 809 Main Street, Weymouth on Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  On Friday, September 23rd, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Weymouth, 234 Pleasant Street at 11:30 AM.  Interment will be private at another date.
