Beloved husband of 59 years to the late Mary O’Brien (Connelly).  Loving father of MaraShane Hughes of CT, Kevin O’Brien and his wife Janet of NH, Shawn O’Brien and his wife Sheila of CT, Timothy O’Brien and his wife Leslie of TX, Erin Boyd and her husband James of Norwell, MA and Meghan McMullan and her husband Bill of CA. Devoted grandfather of Brian, Michael, Tom, James, Greg, Chris, Caitlin, Kevin, Sean, Kayleigh, Connor, Mackenzie, Madeline, Ellie, Abby, Kelly and Liam.  Caring brother of the late Ruth Bodine, Frank O’Brien, Joan Shannon, Paul O’Brien and Joe O’Brien. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Raymond was a United States Army Veteran who served during WWII.  He worked as a Professor at Norwalk Sate Technical College in CT for many years.  After retirement, Raymond and Mary moved from CT to a golf community in Hendersonville, NC and cherished the time spent golfing with close friends. Raymond’s biggest success and proudest accomplishment in life was his loving family.  He will be tremendously missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A celebration of Raymond’s life will be held at the Gaelic-American Club in Fairfield, CT on Sunday, July, 29th from 12:30pm to 4pm.
