Hotton, Peter C. of Weymouth, died peacefully May 20, 2015 at home.

A 50 year employee of The Boston Globe, Peter was an editor as well as the author of the Globe Handyman column. He was an avid chess player. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, the symphony, and the opera. Peter was also a member of the Boston Sherlock Homes Chapter.

Beloved husband of Lucia M. (Bonaiuto) Hotton. Loving father of Gina L. Hotton of Mashpee, and the late David P. Hotton. Brother of the late Dr. Nicholas Hotton III, and the late Cynthia Rampone. Grandfather of Claudia Hinkle. Uncle of Albert, Nicholas, and Carol Hotton, Richard, Thomas, and Peter Rampone, Lisa Deane, and Matthew and David Bonaiuto.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH, at 809 Main Street (Rte 18). Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM in the Church of the Holy Nativity, 8 Nevin Road, South Weymouth. Cremation will follow.
