Patricia Grace (Glowka) Menz

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Grace Menz (Glowka) in the early morning of May 20th after a very brief battle with neuroendocrine cancer.

Patricia was the youngest of five incredible children born to Stanley and Pearl Glowka. Together they made a name for themselves growing up on the streets of West Roxbury and later, when their dad built a home for them in the Germantown section of Quincy . Patsy , as she was lovingly called by her family growing up, is survived by her older brothers Donald and Charlie Glowka, sisters-in law Karen and Carol Glowka and her one true lifelong best friend Edna Mae Gately. She is predeceased by her beloved sister/ partner in crime Mona Kinlin, brother Stanley Glowka, brother-in law Sonny Kinlin, and sister-in law Catherine Glowka.

After graduating Quincy High School, Patricia met the love of her life and future husband, Robert J Menz, while spinning 45 records at a party she didn’t want to go to in the first place. A year later they were engaged and ready to start their family in their new home in East Weymouth where they raised Greg Menz (Darlene), Linda Belanger (Peter), and Karen Gauthier (Andy). Unfortunately their time together was cut short when Pat was widowed in 1973 .

Through the following years she successfully raised her three children thanks to her perseverance, her faith and the never ending support of her extended Glowka Family. Prior to and upon her retirement as an administrative professional for The Department of Mental Health, she enjoyed many hobbies including traveling with her brother Charlie, tinkering in her yard, weekly Bingo with her posse , Foxwood runs with her siblings, socializing and playing cribbage at both the Weymouth and Braintree Senior Centers, pen palling with local elementary school children and her nightly, post Wheel of Fortune phone calls with her granddaughter Brittney. In addition to being survived by her siblings , her children and their spouses, her Logan Park friends and a wealth of nieces and nephews, Patsy leaves her most cherished legacy of 6 grandchildren, James Belanger, USMC Captain Christopher Menz, Brittney Belanger, Johnathan Menz, Nicholas Menz, and Drew Gauthier who all brought her endless pride and joy throughout the past 29 years.

Patricia’s family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff of Beacon Hospice of Plymouth and North River Home Care for their stellar compassion and care through the past month. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in our mother’s name to Beacon Hospice of Plymouth 32 Resnik Road, Unit 3 Plymouth MA 02360.

Visitation will be Wednesday May 24th 2023 from 4:00-5:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 5:00 pm. Service will be held at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home 809 Main Street, South Weymouth, MA. Burial will be private
