Matthew S. Hayslett

Matthew S. Hayslett of Weymouth, died December 9, 2018 at the age of 40 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Matthew was born on September 24th, 1978. He was raised in Quincy where his friendships extended across many different social circles. Matt was a loyal friend, known by everyone to make people laugh. As a kid, he played football for the West Quincy Elks and attended Quincy Public Schools. In his teenage years, he loved nothing more than to swim at the Quarries or hangout with friends at Kincaide Park. After high school, Matt often worked as a laborer. He was an avid fan of both music and books. Matt’s passion for bodybuilding earned him the nickname, “Beastmode”. He loved visiting his extended family in Vermont and often spoke of moving there. Matt lived for his children and doted on them. When he was diagnosed with cancer, Matt began documenting his battle on social media. He had a following of supporters who he inspired by showing incredible bravery and a consistently positive attitude. Matt will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him.

He was the loving son of Brenda F. Hayslett of Weymouth and the late Stephen B. Hayslett. Longtime boyfriend to the mother of two children, Christina Celata. Father of Matthew Joseph Hayslett, Alianna Hayslett, James Matthew Hayslett Graves, and Madelyn Hayslett Graves.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the memorial service on Saturday January 19, 2019 at 5 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea St. (off Rt. 3A-Bicknell Sq.), Weymouth followed by visiting hours from 5:15 PM to 7 PM.
