Mary Josephine (Josie) Seeley

Mary Josephine (Josie) Seeley (Healy/Conneely), of Clearwater, Florida, passed into eternal life January 19, 2018, at the age of 85.

Josie was the beloved wife of John Seeley and was the cherished mother of Joseph Conneely and his wife Claire.  She was the proud grandmother to Fiona, Cora, and Maeve of Brentwood, NH.

Josie was the devoted daughter of the late Thomas and Marie Healy of Galway, Ireland.

She was the sister of Sean Healy, Kathleen Hansbury, both of Ireland, Teresa Murphy of Florida, and Michael Healy of England and was predeceased by three dear brothers and a sister:  Patrick Healy of Ireland, Thomas Healy, Timothy Healy and Bridget Prendeville of Quincy, Massachusetts.  She was also predeceased by her nephews Noel Murphy, Timothy Healy, and Martin Healy as well as nieces Eileen Yetmen and Marie Maloney.  She is survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Josie was born in Clonkeen, Abbert, Menlough, County Galway, Ireland.  She entered the Sisters of the Holy Spirit convent in San Antonio, Texas were she devoted twenty years of service to God.  She earned an undergraduate degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and a graduate degree in Education from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Josie arrived in Quincy at the age of 33, where she met her first husband Joseph Conneely of Ballyconneely, Connemara, County Galway, Ireland.  They were married in London in 1972.  She was widowed at age 60.  She married John Seeley in 1996, and they moved to Clearwater, Fl.  She was a woman of strong faith, love, education, and family.  She taught at St. Anne’s School in Quincy for five years and other schools throughout the United States.  Her commitment to God never wavered, nor her love of family, especially of her precious son Joseph, his wife Claire, and their beautiful daughters (her “little angels”), Fiona, Cora and Maeve.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, February 24th from 8:30-9:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, followed by her Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock Street, Quincy at 10 AM.
