Mary E. Levangie

Mary E. (LaGrasso) Levangie, 92, of Norwell, formerly of Quincy, died March 29, 2015.

While raising six children, Mary worked for Louis Cafe in Quincy and later for Long Island Hospital in Boston. Mary was a skilled cook and enjoyed opening her home to host many friends and family members. Mary volunteered for over 30 years at Harvey’s Saltwater Fishing Club’s annual Veteran’s Day outing which provided a special day for disabled veterans. She shared her hobby of crocheting with loved ones by making many cherished afghans and baby items. Mary loved taking long drives, going out to eat and especially stopping for ice cream. During Mary’s final days, she was surrounded by loving family, good friends, her favorite foods, many cherished stories and laughter. 

Former wife of the late Frederick D. Levangie. Devoted mother of Richard Levangie and his wife Jan of AZ, Donald Levangie and his wife Ethel of Needham, Janet Oberg and her husband Dennis of Plymouth, David Levangie and his companion Teri Boyd of Quincy, Carol Gibbons and her husband Thomas of Plymouth, Beverly Johnston and her companion Bob Miller of Quincy. Cherished grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Loving sister of the late Francis LaGrasso and sister-in-law of Marie Conway of Michigan, Beverly Levangie of Braintree and Eileen Levangie of Weymouth. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Dear friend of Pat Curtin of Norwell.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) 

Funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Thursday at 10 AM.

Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth at a later date.
