Cherished mother of  Sean Walsh and his wife Tracy of Braintree and his twin the late  Jimmy Walsh, Maureen Coppinger and her husband Timothy of Bantry, Ireland, Kevin Walsh, Ann Duarte and her husband Tony of Weymouth, Joanie Walsh of Hingham and Patrick Walsh and his wife Katie of Hull. Maureen was born in Snave, Bantry, Co. Cork, Ireland in 1931. She came to America in 1949 and married Seano in 1960. They had 7 children, built a house and moved to Hingham in 1970. Maureen adored her children and devoted her life to them. It’s impossible to put into words everything she did for them with unconditional love. She has 6 grandchildren that she loved so very much. They are all so special to her in their own unique way. They loved her more than words can say. Maureen loved traveling, especially back home to Ireland to see everyone she loved.

She enjoyed life, learning new things, cooking and baking, knitting,   going to  B-19 and the morgie. She had a great love for nature which included flowers, sunrises and sunsets, the beach and watching the waves, feeding the birds and watching the clouds. But most of all she loved to watch the moon. Maureen made friends from all around the world. Everyone who met her was better for it. She showed love, kindness, compassion, understanding, gentleness, wisdom and generosity to all. Maureen loved get-togethers big and small. She loved the craic, sing songs, dancing and stories.

She will live forever in our hearts.

Two tired eyes are sleeping.

Two willing hands are still.

The one who worked so hard for us, is resting at God’s will.

In consideration of current events and keeping in mind our number one priority of protecting our families and our community, Maureen’s services are private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maureen may be made to Sisters of Notre Dame de Mur, 351 Broadway, Everett, MA 02149.   Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another.
