Mark X. Fallon

Mark X. Fallon, 56, of Weymouth, Massachusetts, died peacefully at home on August 25th after a long battle with colon cancer. Mark was the son of Joanne (Concannon) Fallon and the late Francis Xavier Fallon. Beloved husband of Michelle (Battles) Fallon and devoted father to son Patrick Francis and daughter Madeline Claire. He is also survived by sister, Maureen (Fallon) Bolger and husband Richard of Cohasset and three brothers: William Fallon and wife Carol of Bridgewater, Greg Fallon and Carolina Contreras of Hull, and Douglas Fallon and wife Anne Marie of Deerfield, New Hampshire. He leaves behind many well-loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Born in Quincy, Massachusetts and raised in Hull, Mark graduated from Hull High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Merrimack College. In 1981, Mark began his career in banking. He retired as the regional director of credit operations for the Bank of America.

Mark enjoyed reading, traveling and sports of all kind. He was an enthusiastic golfer and avid Boston sports fan. Playing a round or watching the Patriots were great excuses to relax with family and friends. Even on the bad days, when putts didn’t fall and the Colts beat the Pats, Mark made it fun with his quick-witted sense of humor and easy-going charm. Mark was a man’s man; tall, athletic and strong but it was his generous heart and gentle kindness that drew people to him and what will surely be missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mark’s name to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Benefitting Dr. James M. Cleary’s Phase I Trial Research in Colon Cancer, Attn: Hillary D. Repucci, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445
