Mark S. Bertman

Bertman, Mark S. of Quincy, died December 11, 2018.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Isobel (Nathanson) Bertman of Quincy, his sons Jeffrey and Bruce Bertman and his wife Mercedes, and grandchildren Wade, Natalie, Jason and Rebecca.

Mark graduated from Boston University and owned Rogers Jewelry in Quincy Square since 1960.  As a community activist, Mark was the founder of the Quincy Center Business and Professional Association, board member of the South Shore Bank, Board member of Quincy 2000 and Quincy Tourism, past director of Quincy Historical Society, founder of The Quincy Partnership, member of the Quincy Rotary Club, being honored as a Paul Harris Fellow, a former director of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce and Quincy Chamber of Commerce, Quincy College Board of Governors, being a Past President of Quincy College Trust.  Mark was honored by the college as the recipient of the 2017 Quintessential Award.  He also received the Good Scout Award, the Quincy Lions Award and the Quincy Court Jason Feldman Outstanding Citizen Award.  Mark was a global traveler who loved to see the world with his close friends and family.  For his commitment to his family and to his community, Mark will be greatly missed by all.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.  A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in Sharon Memorial Park Chapel, 120 Canton Street, Sharon, with burial to follow.
