Marguerite R. (Callahan) Bluthardt

Marguerite R. (Callahan) Bluthardt, of Dorchester, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Seasons Hospice in Milton. She was 87.

Born and raised in Dorchester, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Maude Agnes (Lutes) Callahan. Marguerite attended local schools and graduated from high school with the Class of 1950.

While she resided in Quincy the past 30 years Marguerite always considered herself a Dorchester girl of St Mark’s parish. Before she married she worked at Gillette’s where she made lifetime friends and later in life she worked at Jordan Marsh. She and Bob upon mutual retirement took many wonderful trips both overseas and across the U.S. Until her last days she maintained a passion for animal welfare, coffee ice cream, and any trip to the ocean. Throughout her life she remained doggedly supportive and generous to her three sons and their lives and families.

Marguerite was the beloved wife of the late Robert Edward Bluthardt, who died in 2001. They married on April 19, 1954 at St. Mark’s Church in Dorchester and together shared nearly 47 years of loving marriage. She was the devoted mother of Robert F. Bluthardt and his wife Valerie of San Angelo, Texas, Tom Bluthardt of South Boston and John Bluthardt and his wife Dina Siegal of Jamaica Plain. Marguerite was the loving grandmother of Carolyn, Anna and the late Natalie Bluthardt. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members. Marguerite was preceded in death by her dear sister Ethel.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, July 8th from 10 AM to 11:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.
