Margaret A. (Lally) Collins

Mrs. Margaret A. (Lally) Collins, of Upton, formerly of South Weymouth, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 80 on January 31, 2018.

Margaret was a graduate of Matignon High School and Boston College’s School of Education (1959).  After college, she spent a year as a member of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps teaching children in Flagstaff, Arizona. Prior to starting a family she worked as an elementary school teacher and then for nearly 20 years at South Shore Savings Bank. Margie enjoyed watching the New England Patriots, listening to Irish music, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards and board games with her family, shopping and dining out and especially took great pleasure spending many summer days at the beaches of Nantasket and Dennisport. She loved her family and grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all those that knew her.

Beloved wife of the late Robert T. Collins. Loving mother of Michael Collins and his wife, Yuliya, of Walpole, Gregory Collins and his wife, Paula, of Hanson, Jacqueline Linnehan and her husband, John, of Hingham, and Patricia Travi and her late husband, Michael, of Upton. Daughter of the late James and Katherine Lally. Sister of the late Mary, Joseph, and Kevin Lally. Sister in law of Eileen Collins of Weymouth and the late Mary Surran, Rev. Michael Collins, Joanne Sullivan, and Nancy MacDonald. Adoring Gammy of Sam, Amy, Nolan, Peyton, Jack, Luke, Daniel, Leah, Gwen, and Princess Coco. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, February 8th, from  4:30 – 8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Friday, February 9th,  prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
