Lynn Seaquist Hart, born on December 25, 1967, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2023, after a valiant two-year battle with ovarian cancer. Lynn, a true hero in the face of adversity, leaves behind a legacy of unwavering positivity and determination, the purest love for her children and husband, and a true zest for living life to the fullest. 

Lynn’s journey with cancer was nothing short of a marathon, a race she completed with grace, dignity, and an unparalleled commitment to living her best life. A lifelong athlete, Lynn faced her illness with the same resilience and strength that defined her. Her endless 5+ mile walks through Hingham, usually accompanied by her faithful companion, Livie the Lab, her long bike rides on any country road, and swimming, anywhere, at any opportunity… these were a testament to her love of the outdoors, and her commitment to stay strong and embrace life’s challenges in the best way that she could. While in the hospital, Lynn’s determination was exemplified by her daily “field trips” from the hospital to walk the six-mile Jamaica Pond loop, showcasing her relentless will to strengthen her body and mind, despite illness. 

Growing up in Devon, Pennsylvania with her parents Claire and Richard Seaquist, Lynn was surrounded by the love of her beautiful family, including her two beloved older sisters, Karen and Christine. Lynn and her sisters shared countless memories of childhood summers on Nantucket, where their parents had met, which laid the foundation for Lynn’s deep affection for the island, a place where she found enduring friendships, endless summers, and a profound love for her swims in the Atlantic waters, and runs and bike rides along the winding, scrub-oak conservation trails and paths. Nantucket became the backdrop for Lynn’s vibrant life, from her beach lifeguard days to her most cherished role as a mother and wife.  

Lynn’s love story with her husband, Christopher Alexander Hart, spanned 25 years, marked by endless shared ventures and travel, and an unbreakable bond. Chris stood by Lynn’s side throughout her life, with unwavering protective and nurturing support, magnified during every step of the way throughout her cancer treatments. Their love for each other and their children was a beacon of strength, providing each other happiness and togetherness, as well as the fortitude for Lynn to face her illness head-on. Lynn’s marriage to Chris and her years as a mother to her sons, Alexander Porter Hart and Tristan Hawkins Hart, was the most precious stage of her life. Together, the Hart family embarked on countless adventures, exploring the world, participating in athletic events, and creating lasting traditions and memories. Couch-time for Arsenal games, summer trips to Portugal and Hawaii, winter get aways to the warmth of Turks and Caicos, Costa Rica, and a Christmas trip to Hong Kong marked some of their many family experiences. Travel was a true passion for Lynn, and sharing the world with her children was a core value, reminding them that throughout the world, all people share goodness, love, and connection. Lynn valued her family above all else, sharing that their family’s love is lasting always and forever.  

As we hold Lynn in our hearts, we celebrate a life lived with courage, love, and an enduring spirit. Her legacy will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her, teaching us the power of positivity, the importance of resilience, and the true meaning of a life well-lived. Lynn’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her extraordinary presence. 

Lynn and her family are grateful for the exceptional care she received from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in memory of Lynn to Dana-Farber for providing the best cancer treatments available today while developing tomorrow’s cures through cutting-edge research. Alternatively, please consider a donation to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition for their dedication to building awareness of this terrible disease, as well as offering support programs and resources for patients and caregivers. 

Lynn’s Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, at 2 PM, in the Hingham Congregational Church, 378 Main Street, Hingham MA.
