Hingham – Louis F. Giacchetti, 78, passed away Thursday February 4, 2016. Following a brief illness.

He leaves his beloved wife of 55 years, Barbara (Hannifin) Giacchetti of Hingham. Loving father of Michael Giacchetti and his wife Susan of Hingham and Vincent Giacchetti and his companion Theresa D’Alessandro of Hanover. He was a devoted papa to Jennifer LaRosa and her husband Chris, Jaclyn, Joseph, Amanda and Matthew Giacchetti. Caring brother of Virginia Horne and her husband George of Rockland and Julia Kahler of Quincy. 

Louis was a member of the Navy Reserves. He was the founding owner of Lou’s Autobody in Rockland which continues to be a third generation family run business. Lou kept his love and passion for cars by refurbishing hot rods and going to car shows all over the country with his friends and family. Lou also loved traveling and spending the winter months in Florida. He was a loyal friend to all and impacted everyone he came in contact with. The center of his world was his family. Lou will be remembered by his witty sense of humor and big heart. He will be truly missed. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8pm at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. Hingham (Off Central St).  A celebration of life service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM Tuesday, followed by a funeral mass at St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10:00 AM. Cremation to follow.
