Linda M. Hajjar

Hajjar, Linda, of Quincy, died peacefully on March 29, 2015 while surrounded by her loving family.  She was 87.  

Linda was born on July 15, 1927 in Quincy, MA.  Linda, wife of the late Toufic Hajjar, is lovingly remembered by her five children: Louise and her husband David Densmore, of Braintree; Michael and his wife Asma of Quincy; Susan of Hingham; Steven and his wife Jean of Cohasset; and Marianne of Quincy. Linda will be deeply missed by her six grandchildren, Michelle Densmore, Jessica Densmore, Michael Hajjar, Danielle Forlasto, Elias Dagher, Nicole Hajjar and great-grandson, Jackson Forlasto.  She is predeceased by her sister Mabel of Quincy and is survived by her sister Julia of Quincy and her brother Sidney and his wife Evalynne of Milton.  

In 1945, Linda graduated from Quincy High School.  Three years later, while in Lebanon, she met Toufic Hajjar and in 1948, they married.  Linda and Toufic then traveled back to the United States to start life as newlyweds.  In the 1950s, Linda and Toufic opened Hajjar’s Big and Tall Clothing Store.  Linda enjoyed working alongside her husband Toufic as well as her five children for many years. After Linda’s retirement, she gave her time and love to her children and grandchildren. Linda loved music and dancing with a passion.  Her favorites were Frank Sinatra and Andrea Bocelli.  Linda was also an avid baseball fan.  Her unwavering love for the Red Sox has been passed on to her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warm, joyful nature and enduring kindness and compassion.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald Street (Off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 550 Washington Street, Quincy at 10 AM.  Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
