Phillips, Laurence A. of Canton, died May 4, 2018.

Laurence attended Quincy High School and Boston University. He grew up in Quincy and lived in West Bridgewater before moving to Canton for the last 35 years. Laurence was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran earning the Good Conduct Medal. He worked for many years as a Treasury Agent for the Department of Defense. He enjoyed traveling, photography, books and his philanthropy for animals was exuberant. Laurence will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Beloved husband of 50 years to the late Athena “Tina” (Palsson) Phillips. Loving son of the late Laurence J. Phillips and Mary “Mae” (Keene) Phillips. Dear brother of the late Mary Ann Naclerio and her husband Lawrence. Cherished uncle of Susan Brennan and her husband Jack of Abington, Patti Sprague and her husband Peter of Kingston and Larry Naclerio and his wife Rosann of Scituate and many other great nieces and nephews. Son in law of the late Gudmundur and Louise Palsson. Brother in law of Jonathon Palsson and his wife Joan of Duxbury and the late Eugene Palsson and his wife Kathryn.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 9:30 AM-10:30AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main St. (Rt. 18 opp. South Shore Hospital), Weymouth. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Laurence may be made to the VNA/Pallative Care Fund, 199 Rosewood Drive, Suite 180, Danvers, MA 01923 (vnacare.org).
