Kristen Louise Grossman
July 31, 1974 – November 21, 2023
Kristen L. (Blasberg) Grossman of Hingham, MA, passed from this world on November 21, 2023, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. She was 49.
Beloved wife of Joshua S. Grossman of Hingham. Devoted mother to Theo W. Grossman and Tessa L. Grossman both of Hingham. Cherished daughter of Ronald Blasberg, MD, and Janet (Swiatek) Blasberg of Riverside CT. Sister of Eric J. Blasberg of Hingham. Daughter- in -law to Elaine Grossman of Carbondale, CO and Stewart Grossman of Truro, MA. Sister-in-law to Ali (Grossman) Baron and Gil Baron both of Los Angeles, CA. Aunt to Margaret “Mimi” Blasberg of Hingham, Sidney and Jules Baron both of Los Angeles, CA.
Kristen leaves behind a small army of cherished friends. Also, the business she founded, Cycle Town fitness studio of Hingham and Marshfield.
Kristen and her family are grateful for the care she received from Mass General Hospital, from City of Hope Cancer Center of Duarte, CA, and the Tam Healing Center of Quincy. Her care team was exceptional.
Raised in Maryland, Kristen attended Churchill High School until her family moved to Riverside, CT, where she graduated from Greenwich High School (1992). Proud graduate of Colgate University (1996) and member of its Diving Team (1993-1995). Kristen studied entrepreneurship and business management at Babson College, earning an MBA, magna cum laude (2006).
Kristen was an inexhaustible source of positive energy. No challenge was too great if it stood in the way of having fun. “Build fun”, she told her family. “Get Sh*t Done”, read her coffee mug. She was deeply spiritual. In May, at the outset of treatment, she told her oncologist “it’ll be okay, I know the universe has my back.” She was beautiful, driven, confident and generous. She had great instincts for business, for people and for life. A powerful athlete, a leader by example, she gathered no moss and opened her heart to others. Her children were her greatest joy.
Her professional work is on display, every day, at Cycle Town.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kristen may be made to the Uncle Kory Foundation of El Segundo, CA, devoted to funding research for cancer treatments and cures. This foundation was near to Kristen’s heart long before her own battle with cancer and is run by her dear friends who lost a brother to brain cancer. She loved traveling to their annual Tour De Pier fundraiser, a daylong spin party featuring 400 stationary bikes on the Manhattan Beach Pier overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Kristen’s Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday December 4, 2023 at 10am in South Shore Baptist Church, 578 Main Street, Hingham.
