Kathleen Ann (Twombley) O’Neil

Kathleen Ann (Twombley) O’Neil, of Stoughton, and formerly of Dorchester, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, June 19, 2022. She was 74.

Kathleen was born in Boston on November 1, 1947, and was the daughter of the late John and Wilma (MaGee) Twombley. She was raised in Weymouth, attended local schools, and graduated from Weymouth High School. In addition to being a homemaker, Kathleen worked for over 30 years as a bookkeeper for Stop & Shop. She enjoyed all the relationships she built throughout the years.

In her spare time, Kathleen loved knitting, cooking, baking, shopping, and working in her garden. She would grow beautiful roses of all colors, though the pink were her favorite. Spending time with her family and friends was the most important part of Kathleen’s life. She loved to be with others, and people were drawn to her loving demeanor. In the spirit of family and giving, Kathleen’s favorite holiday was Christmas. She loved this holiday for everything it represented: love of family and others, kindness, generosity, and cheerfulness, all of which represent the type of person Kathleen was. Kathleen had a good heart; she never spoke ill of others and was truly one in a million. Her life lessons and example are part of her legacy that continues through her family. She will be missed by all the lives she touched.

Kathleen was the beloved wife of William J. O’Neil Sr. of Stoughton. The two married on June 10, 1967, in Immaculate Conception Church in Weymouth. Together they shared 55 loving years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of William J. O’Neil Jr. and his wife Leona of Stoughton, and the loving grandmother of Alexandra O’Neil of Stoughton. She was the loving daughter-in-law of the late John and Anne O’Neil of Dorchester. She is also survived by two sisters: Rose and Susan, and many loving nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, extended family, and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday, July 15, 2022, 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

Kathleen’s funeral service and interment will be held privately.
