Heffernan, Kathleen Ann (O’Brien) of Weymouth, passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 23, 2022. Loving mother of Kristen L. Heffernan and her partner Jim Calvani of Hanover and Scott M. Heffernan of Weymouth and the father of their children, the late James P. Heffernan. Dear sister of James O’Brien and his wife Jo of North Carolina, Sharon O’ Brien of Florida and predeceased by Marilyn Thomas and Lynn Cobb. Cherished cousin and best friend to Donna Rosado of Weymouth. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime close friends.

Kathy was born in Quincy to the late Madeline and James O’Brien. She was a graduate of Hull High School, Class of 1970 and earned a bachelors degree from Lesley University, Class of 2001. Kathy worked for Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant and Mass Electric. Spending time with family and friends at the beach, walking and reading were some of Kathy’s favorite pastimes. Music was a big part of Kathy’s life, she loved leading her own family in Christmas carols around the holidays. Kathy will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 10:30 AM. A burial service will follow at Hull Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Kathy to AccentCare Hospice, 597 Randolph Ave, Milton, MA 02186.
