Katelyn E. McCarthy of Abington, died tragically on May 13, 2022 at the age of 18.

Kate was unapologetically genuine. She always looked out for the underdog and those in need. She had a strong artistic sensibility and loved to dance and sing. She could be stubborn and fierce, but also gentle and protective. Kate was supposed to be graduating from Abington High School this spring. Her Mom will proudly accept Kate’s diploma. Kate was looking forward to getting her driver’s license and attending Toni and Guy Hairdressing Academy in the fall.

Cherished daughter of Lori L. Frost of Abington and John McCarthy of Stoughton. Loving sister of Jaclyn McCarthy of Andover and Jordan Barrett of Austin, TX. Loving granddaughter of the late Yvonne M. (Bissett) Sullivan, the late William F. McCarthy, the late Jeanne Elizabeth McCarthy and great grandparents Donald Cahoon of Weymouth and the late Elizabeth June Cahoon. Niece of Thomas Conlon of Abington, Darren Scartissi and wife Melissa of Hanson, great aunt May Brunetti and her husband Mike of NC, Dennis Conlon, and Dawn Scartissi of CA. Also survived by many additional aunts, uncles, cousins and second Moms.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth. Donations in memory of Katelyn may be made to Stomp Out Bullying.
