Heine, Karl, 66, of Braintree, passed unexpectedly on August 10, 2018.

Karl adored his wife and family, especially being Papa to his grandchildren.

Karl loved spending time on his boat, had a year-round suntan, and was a long time member of the Braintree Yacht Club. He was happiest holding court telling stories, with a cold Coors Light, surrounded by friends and family, or anyone who would listen. So, Karl made friends wherever he went and leaves a trail from Aruba to Maine. No one’s stories were funnier, and Karl often brought groups to tears of laughter with his natural storytelling ability. Karl was a skilled handyman, who was always building, tinkering or repairing anything he could get his hands on. He retired after 30 years as a backhoe operator for national grid and was a member of the Local 12003.

Karl was truly devoted to his family, is the beloved husband of Madeleine Heine, high school sweethearts whom were married in South Boston over 43 years ago; loving father of Shannon Harmon and husband John of Hanover; Michelle Doucette and husband Roger of South Weymouth; Karly  Santry and husband Michael of South Weymouth;  and Eric Heine and his longtime love Taylor Jordan of Hanson; beloved son of the late Mary O’Keefe Heine and late Robert Heine of South Boston; brother of Carole Sullivan of Braintree. Devoted Papa to Jackson, Charlie and Lacey Harmon, and Ellie and Mia Santry. Lifelong best friends of Paul and Janice Shuman. Karl leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces and nephews, gas guys, and an endless list of friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
