Karen Sue (Scoggins) Peavey, 64, of Shelby, North Carolina passed away on January 16th after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Karen was born on August 4, 1953 in Los Angeles, California. After being raised in Los Angeles, she lived in Shelby, North Carolina for the last 20 years of her life with her husband Paul and their son Chris.

Karen was the beloved wife of Paul Peavey and devoted mother to Christopher Peavey. She was the loving sister to Robert Scoggins and his wife Sharon of California, Marilyn Reck and her husband Melvin of California, Sharilyn Dau and her husband Roger of California, Jeffrey Scoggins of Nevada, Patricia Scoggins of Arizona and the late Eddie Scoggins, Lawrence Scoggins, Bruce Scoggins, Steven Scoggins and Michael Scoggins. Loyal sister-in-law to the late Marie Norton and her husband Ronald Norton of Abington, Thomas Peavey and his wife Debbie of Florida, Joseph Peavey of Quincy, James Peavey and his wife Simona of Methuen and the late William Peavey of Florida and many other loving family members. Karen was a beautiful person inside and out.  She loved spending time with her Boston Family!  She will forever be missed!!!!!

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, January 22nd from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, January 23rd at 11 AM in the funeral home followed by a burial in Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree.
