Joseph M. Masciovecchio, Sr.

Masciovecchio, Joseph M., Sr. 89, of Weymouth passed away peacefully on December 5th 2016.

Joseph was born in Boston and graduated from Dorchester High School. He was  a proud WWII Army Veteran and a member of the Greatest Generation. He was a long time member of the John Quincy Adams Club serving as the Secretary for many years. Joseph restored antique furniture at his paint removing service Co. in East Weymouth. Joseph worked in construction for most of his career and retired from the Water Division of the Weymouth DPW after 10 years of service.  He enjoyed candlepin bowling and working on his Lincoln Town Car. Though he struggled with Muscular Dystrophy for the majority of his adult life he was an inspiration to family, friends and all who knew him. 

Joseph was the beloved husband of Anna M. (Del Rosso) Masciovecchio of Weymouth for 67 years. Joseph was the son of the late Guido P. and Mildred (Brandano) Masciovecchio. The loving father of Joanne A. and her late husband Alan Weiler of Bourne, Lynda and her husband Kevin Patts of Weymouth, Joseph M. Jr. and his wife Brenda Masciovecchio of Weymouth and Stephen and his wife Kelly Masciovecchio of Bourne. He was the loving Papa to Diana and Lisa, Christina and Greg, Michael and Allison, Jennifer and Great Grandfather to David, Connor and Maya. Joseph was predeceased by 3 loving brothers Guido P. Jr. (Mac) of Kansas City, Missouri, John of Waltham and Emilio “Mac the Mechanic” of Columbus, Georgia. He leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday 11AM – 2PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 2 PM in the funeral home.
