Joseph J. Campanelli

Campanelli, Joseph J. of Hingham, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024 surrounded by family.

Beloved husband of Marion Hogan Campanelli and the late Dolores Baraso Campanelli. Loving father of Lisa Rose and her husband Paul, Kevin Campanelli and his wife Maria Moreira, Kenneth Campanelli, Kathleen Trimbell and her husband Linnell, Maura Flipp and her husband Mike, Stacey Burlingame and her husband Michael, and the late Alison Hogan. Cherished brother of Kenneth Campanelli and his wife Susan and the late Daniel and his surviving wife Karin. Loving Gramps of Sophia and Olivia Rose, Shianna, Isabella, and Nicholas Campanelli, Shayne Trimbell and his wife Karen, Kelley Weaver and her husband Hank, Andrea Owen and her husband Kevin, Bryan Flipp and his wife Ashley, Jacques Thomas Chedid, and Courtney Zwaan and her husband Nicholas. Also survived by 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Joe spent the early part of his life in East Elmhurst (back of La Guardia Airport), Queens, NY. He received an “Associate in Applied Science” degree from City Tech in Brooklyn, NY. He joined USAF in October of 1961 and was released from active duty on October of 1965 and honorably discharged in 1967. He worked at Stone & Webster Engineering as a piping designer for 11 years and later for Koch Membrane Systems as a computer aid designer for 17 years. He then married the love of his life, Marion Hogan, and moved to Linden Ponds in Hingham, MA. At Linden Ponds, Joe was a pioneer and the first group of “Founders”, moving in at the very beginning. He created an in house TV station, then known as TV 6, before the present TV studio 918 and 919. He proudly created a veteran’s group at Linden Ponds. He served as the and President of the “Italian American Club”. Joe was known for his exuberance, sense of humor, love of traveling, skiing, dance moves, video creation, and family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 4-7 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Funeral Mass will be Tuesday in the Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joe may be made to your local St. Vincent De Paul charity.
