Hayes, Joseph H. of Hingham, died April 21, 2018. Joseph was born in Cohasset to the late Henry and Bridget Hayes. He attended Hingham High School and earned his Associates Degree at Massasoit Community College where he later taught. Joseph was a proud WWII Navy veteran. He was active in Weymouth as a member of many committees; the Weymouth Knights of Columbus, the DAV and a member of the Coast Guard Auxillary. He served as a lecturer and Eucharistic minister at St. Albert The Great Parish and St. Francis Xavier Parish, both in Weymouth.

Beloved husband of the late Barbara D. (Garfield) Hayes. Loving father of Stephen Hayes and his wife Deborah of Stonington, CT, Mary Ellen Hayes of Weymouth, Patricia Campbell and her husband Alfred of Pelham, NH, Barbara Riordan and her husband Joseph of Saratoga Springs, NY and Joanna Pepe and her husband David of Kingston. Dear brother of Henry J. “Hank” Hayes and his wife Shirley of Weymouth. Proud grandfather of Amy, Colleen, Brittany, Sarah, Amanda, Daniel, Fred, Jamie, Joseph, Jackson and great grandfather of Ariel, Jacquelyn, Mitchell and Jacob. Also survived by his nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth on Friday at 11 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
