Gratta, Joseph G. of Hingham, died June 26, 2017.

Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Giulia (Politano) Gratta. Loving father of Paul Gratta and his wife Lauren of Norwell, Joseph Gratta and his wife Rose of Scitaute, Mario Gratta and his wife Traci of Norwell, and Elizabeth Gratta and her former husband Andy Gilmartin of Hull. Dear brother of Vincent Gratta of Hull. Cherished Nanno of Joseph, Stephanie, Francesca, Julianna, Joseph, Julietta, Marissa, Eliza, and Nico.

Joseph adored his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening and being outside in the warmer months. He was a very talented musician; playing the accordion, guitar, and piano. Joseph, along with his wife Giulia, were the owners of Gratta Groceries in Hingham and the Atlantic Hill Market in Hull for many years. He was also a member of the Local 3 as a bricklayer. Joseph was a very laid back, easy gong man and would always help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joseph may be made to a charity of your choice.
