John W. “Jay” Mooney, Jr.

John W. “Jay” Mooney, Jr. of Weymouth, passed on April 24, 2016.

Jay grew up in Medford and Duxbury before moving to Weymouth over 30 years ago. He was the author and creator of the poem Merry Christmas From Heaven © ® which he wrote in 1989 and the President and CEO of MooneyTunCo, Inc. Jay enjoyed camping, skiing, boating and all water sports. He loved attending sporting events for and with his boys. He was “Jay Mooney plus II” singing and entertaining in clubs throughout the area moving his musical talents into nursing homes and many times joined by his father. Jay and his daughters were grateful to share their musical talents at Brasco Memorial Chapel’s Christmas remembrance service in Waltham and we are all grateful for their continued support. Jay’s family fondly remembers many wonderful boat trips especially to Martha’s Vineyard and winter visits with him in Naples Florida. He will be dearly missed.

Beloved husband of 47 years to Jean M. (Kenney) Mooney of Weymouth. Devoted father of Kristan Mooney-Dean of Hingham, Jennifer Mooney-Enos of Walpole, Elizabeth Jaylin Mooney of Weymouth and Jacquelyn Mooney of Weymouth.
