John V. Hartley, Jr. of Attleboro, formerly of Holbrook died February 20, 2019.

The beloved husband of the late Joan (Hennessey) Hartley. John was the loving father of David W. Hartley of Pawtucket, RI, Mark A. Hartley and Gayle P. Sears, both of Brockton and the late John V. Hartley III and Michael R. Hartley. He was the dear brother of Kenneth Hartley of Nipoma, CA, James Hartley, Melbourne, FL and MaryLou (Hartley) Whalen of Milton. John is predeceased by his siblings Donald Hartley, formerly of Braintree, Harold Hartley, formerly of Randolph, Janet (Hartley) Tripp, formerly of Plymouth and Doris (Hartley) Rivard, formerly of Braintree. John was the cherished grandfather of Kayla, Meredith, Stephanie, Brian and Brandon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

John was born and raised in Boston. When he graduated from high school he joined the United States Navy serving his country during the Korean War. After his military career, John began working as an Iron worker for local 7 where he stayed for 25 years retiring in 2000. He had a strong work ethic. John loved to play golf, going to the casino and spending time with his family.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and a cherished grandfather who will be sadly missed.
