John “Tom” Mullaney

Mullaney, John “Tom” of Quincy, died February 19, 2017.

Above all things, Tom Mullaney loved three things in his life; his family, youth sports, and his beloved City of Quincy.  He loved his family with his entire heart and was fortunate to spend his later years as the proud grandfather of his only grandson Michael.  He was a fixture at youth sporting events over his many years, with the Morrisette American Legion Post 294 baseball team being one of his favorites.  Tom attended more baseball games at Adams Field than any other Quincy resident.  He enjoyed coaching Quincy Little League and Babe Ruth’s Granite City Electric and attended innumerable high school basketball and volleyball games.

Tom was a proud 80-year resident of Quincy and was engaged in local politics; he was a true civic participant.  He was a member of the U.S. Army reserves, worked for The Polaroid Corporation for over 35 years, and worked part-time at H&R Block in his retirement. He was always there to help friends and family and continuously worked to make Quincy a better place.

Tom was predeceased by his loving wife Mary L. (McIsaac) Mullaney and his sister Marilyn Caiewski.

He is survived by his daughter Mary Ann Mullaney, son Michael Mullaney, daughter-in-law Janice Mullaney and cherished grandson Michael Mullaney – all of Weymouth.  He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Blyth of Abington and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.

Donations in memory of Tom may be made to Morrisette Post 294 Baseball, c/o Fred White, 104 Edward Street, Quincy, MA 02169.
