John T. “Jack” O’Connor

John T. “Jack” O’Connor, a Korean War Army veteran and lifelong resident of Weymouth, died November 27, 2015 at the age of 85.

Jack worked as an auto mechanic for the United States Postal Service out of the A Street postal garage in South Boston for many years. He had a lifelong passion for automobiles and engine repair.

He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Eleanor (Murphy) O’Connor. Loving father of John “Jack” O’Connor, Jr. and wife Jan of Rockland, Patricia “Patty” O’Connor of Weymouth, David O’Connor and wife Joanne of Hingham, the late Timothy O’Connor and his wife Charlene of Abington, and Amy Reddington and husband Ed of E. Bridgewater. Brother of the late Christine Miller. Also lovingly survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday from 10-11 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street) followed by a funeral service at 11 AM. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth. Donations in memory of Jack may be made to the N.E. Center for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
