John R. “Jack” Hatfield, Sr.

 John R. “Jack” Hatfield, Sr.,  a lifelong Quincy resident died February 3, 2017, he was 87.

The beloved husband of the late Joan L. (Kerrigan) Hatfield. Devoted father of Carol Hatfield of Quincy, John R. Hatfield, Jr. and his wife Tracy of Whitman, Maureen Aronson and her husband Jeffrey of Weymouth, Michael Hatfield and his fiance Marie Daniel of Quincy, Sandra Dickey and her husband Paul of Wakefield, Neil Hatfield and his wife Kelly of Quincy, and Kerri Benson and her husband David of Belmont.  Pre deceased by his siblings, Anna C. David, Ruth Shea, James Hatfield, George Hatfield, Frank Hatfield, Madeline Vautrinot, Mabel Hatfield and Junior Hatfield. Cherished grandfather of his 17 grandchildren Ashley Sweeney and her husband Daniel, Jonathan & Mackenzie Hatfield, Krista Joseph and her husband Andrew, Matthew and Eric Aronson, Rachel & Valerie Hatfield, Sarah & Brian Dickey, Ryan, Emily, Zachary, Lindsey and Allyson Hatfield, Billy and Sean Benson and 4 great grandchildren Ryder Matchem, Riley and Jackson Sweeney and Carson Hatfield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jack worked as a supervisor for Boston Gear works in Quincy for more than 45 years. a proud US Army veteran serving during the Korean War era.  He enjoyed bowling, golfing and Bingo. Jack along with his beloved late wife Joan enjoyed many social events at the Montclair Men’s Club for many years. Nothing gave him as much pleasure as playing board games and cards with his cherished family. He was so devoted to them and although heart broken at his loss, they are all richer for having had such a wonderful man as their Dad. He will continue to live on in all their hearts and minds.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

A Celebration of Life Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy.

Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
